Common Questions
What is the difference between the BA & BS degrees?
The BS focuses more on physical sciences and advanced mathematical coursework, making it ideal for technical and scientific careers like data science, biostatistics, and actuarial science. The BA requires more coursework in arts, humanities, and social sciences, offering a broader liberal arts education, which can be beneficial for careers in policy analysis, education, or roles that require strong communication and analytical skills.
What makes this major unique?
This major offers the ability for customization with the BA and BS options allowing you flexibility to also combine the major with concentrations or minors that suit your interests or career goals.
